And Then It Rained On Malcolm

Alberta Literary Award Finalist

It rained on Malcolm’s town.
It rained on Malcolm’s street.
It rained on Malcolm’s house.

And then it rained on Malcolm.

When a rainstorm ruins all of Malcolm’s plans, he yells up a storm of his own until a sudden idea helps him see his day in a whole new light. Pretty soon, Malcolm, his dog, and some very enthusiastic worms are splashing, sloshing, and squirming their way through a rainy day adventure.

One of the things I most love to talk about with kids is the way that our thoughts about a situation can completely change our experience of it. I wanted to create a story that could make this idea accessible for even the youngest readers and listeners.
