Paige started writing as a kid and never really stopped. The inspiration for her current work often comes from her eighteen years of clinical experience as a child psychologist. She gets to work with amazing kids and their families to tackle issues like anxiety, attention challenges, and learning differences.
She loves to combine her two worlds by creating kids’ books with themes related to mental health, well-being, and resilience. Her goal is to create engaging books that focus first on character and storytelling, but that also introduce deeper topics. She is an avid believer in the magic of books and in their power to spark connection and conversation between kids and the adults in their lives.
Paige’s first picture book, And Then It Rained on Malcolm (Sky Pony Press), illustrated by Rich Farr, explores themes of resilience for very young readers/listeners and was a finalist for an Alberta Literary Award. She has received artist grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and Calgary Arts Development for her current writing projects.
